The everyday things....

Brody and Findley love to cook!!! Ainsley is getting pretty good at taking pictues and Brody is becoming quite the poser!! Tasting a little of his creation!! I think they are watching Sesame Street....Brody found a pair of Ainsley's old tennis shoes that light up when you walk and he LOVES to wear them! Things are definantly exciting around here! Me and my girl!!! Ainsley showing off her favorite outfit that she got as a hand me down from her old teacher/our dear friend Ms. Lina's daughter. She couldn' t stop talking about it and loves that these shoes have a little "heel" on them! I think this is going to be the outfit I am fighting her for to get in the washing machine! She wants it EVERYDAY!

Cavanaugh Flight Museum

We were over in Addison running errands with some time to kill. I used to live over there when Ryan and I were dating so I drove through our apartments and was showing Ainsley (we thought they were a little questionable - Ainsley thought it was so cool to live in a "house" with stairs on the outside! But she did quickly realize there wasn't much of a backyard!! Anyway, I remembered that the airport was close and maybe the kids would like to go watch some of the planes take off (Ryan and I used to do this - awwww ;) Then I saw signs for a flight museum - the kids were free, we were game! Findley did not stop hollering "OOO" for the whole entire time we were there. He squats down when he gets really excited/interested in something, sticks his hand out to point and then hollers a deep "OOOO" It was too funny to watch - They LOVED it!! This was towards the end of our visit but they had an air conditioned snack room so we went into kill some time in a cool room for a bit. They were then fascinated by snack/drink machines - kept them busy for sometime investigating buttons, opening doors, they had plane books for them to look at , a chair for mamma, and enclosed area where they wouldn't run off. We stayed there as long as they could stand it!!

Around the House

Brody's first encounter with "video games" - He loved it!!! So funny how intriguing they are - he had no idea what he was doing with this little hand held game but he was pushing the buttons like crazy grunting and hollering!!! I had accidentally brought it home with me from VBS - it belonged to one of the boys in my class - oops!! But he's playing the piano at the same time so I think it all evens out!? ;) We went and met some friends at Firewheel play area. They have this great fountain that throws a nice mist on you when standing at the right spot and then it is really pretty landscaped with bridges, streams, rocks etc. I was brave and walked through freely with the boys but I didn't have extra hands to take pictures!!! There were a couple kids wading in the water so they were extremely tempted but we made it back to the car dry and no falls!! WHEW! When Ainsley gets tired of her hair accessories I think she puts them on the boys so she doesn't have to carry them. They don't mind, so for now it works. In a couple of years I see them fighting this a little more....maybe not?...only time will tell. We have had such a busy summer so far! Fun, but busy!! I finally called a day of NOTHING! We stayed in our pj's ALL day long, I took a three hour nap along with the boys (Ainsley joined in for a bit), and we just played around the house! It was very nice and much needed!!! We've been watering out neighbors yard while they are out of town so this time I took the kids and they played a bit in their backyard with new toys and enjoyed getting hit by the sprinklers!! Findley cheering on a stomp rocket we found at their house - he found this quite entertaining. You step on an air pump and it sends a styrofoam rocket into the air....we did it over and over and over and over and over again!!! Brody trying out a bike..... and Ainsley enjoying the trampoline!!

Pool with Friends

We met my good friend Trisha and her family up at the pool last weekend. The kids had a great time and it was fun having our WHOLE families together!! Brody and Findley saying good-bye to Jordan A couple of older boys brought this boat to the pool. They were the envy of the pool for the night - adults and children alike oohed and aahed as they set sail in the pool!!! They were sitting right next to us and the boys had to check it out while on land!! Trisha, Layne and Jordan We saw my sweet cousin Emily at the pool - Ainsley was SO excited to see her!!! A little worn out...enjoying a brownie before we headed home for the night
