Ice Cream and Baths

Ryan and Ainsley went to get ice cream after dinner tonight. The boys are getting REALLY messy now that they are doing alot of their feeding themselves! Tonight they had carrots, green beans, chicken, and banana! and then to top it off they got a little of our ice cream and they LOVED it!! (Ainsley was not fond -believe it or not - of ice cream when she was little until around 18m - 2?) So in the sink they go....they are starting to need a bath more regularly. I saw someone else do this. I think I have missed the optimal time - they are getting big and we have a small sink and they are extremely wiggly!! But, it doesn't kill my back to lean over; I can bath one at a time and have the other one wondering around safely (not climbing on me in the bathroom) and the boys loved it! They were trying to climb out though and loved splashing - one mess creates another!

Findley ...

Findley is everywhere now....crawling - army crawls REALLY fast and every now and then gets up on his hands and knees - I think he knows he can go faster on his tummy!! Is pulling up alot and getting more comfortable in a standing position. I gave the boys some watermelon the other night. If I chopped it up real small they would have nothing to do with it but if I gave them a big piece to bite off of they went to town!! Findley especially LOVED it!!! Ainsley was cuddled up with Findley singing to him as he drank his last bottle before bed! They love each other so much!!!

Hats, Hats, Hats....

Ainsley had "Hat Day" at school which got us playing with the boys and all of our choices.....These are the boys winter hats and Ryan's baseball hat. On one of Ainsley's long days the boys and I were at home and neither one of them had slept really well at their morning nap. I was exhausted. I pick Ainsley up at 2:00 and around 1:00 thought I would love to lay down and close my eyes for just 15 minutes or so before picking her up. We got rid of our swings so I put the boys in their exersaucers (safe out of harms way - no exploring while mommy closes her eyes!) and when I woke up 10 minutes later Brody had gotten his blankie and laid his head down and was sleeping. I picked him up and moved him to his car seat and he KEPT sleeping - unheard of in our family!!! We were all worn out!!!!

Happy Birthday Avery!!

Marshall, Macey, and Ainsley. I'm embarressed that I didn't get a picture of Avery! We didn't sit down and play with her until the end of the night and I was beat by then! Ainsley and Macey I went out to the bounce house with Ainsley when no one else was in it - Findley got to explore a bit and Ainsley got to be crazy on her own terms!! ;)

Neighborhood Picnic

We went to our neighborhood's yearly picnic this morning - there was the "Creature Teacher" with lots of interesting animals - Here Ainsley and Olivia are checking out the snake!!!
game of tug-o-war Brody and Findley worn out after the walk down there! They were much happier when they got to get out of the stroller and play/drink some water!! It was back to being a much warmer day then it has this past week!! Throwing water ballons at the mayor of Richardson!!! Ainsley still smiling on the bike ride home!! Everyone relaxing and reading before some rest time.

Brody's funny little quirk

Brody wakes up in the morning and gets Ainsley's bowl of play food and finds either a chicken leg or banana and carries them around for the remainder of the day. He will get fussy and be crawling around everywhere and then when he finds his piece of food for the day he is content? Cozy blankets - wooden food? To each their own!! This banana has some velcro around it where the peel sticks to. I think he like the way the velcro feels on his teeth? Should I even try and understand?

Our week....

Ryan got tickets to the Ranger Game from work so we got a sitter for the boys and headed out with Ainsley! We had a wonderful time having some time with her AND eating Cotton Candy!!! Ainsley and mommy's favorite! Ainsley has had some mysterious virus' that give her 100 temp in the middle of the night (just enough for me to feel guilty if I didn't keep her home from school) but other than that feeling fine! She would cry in the morning that she WANTED to go to school so bad!! She set up school here (the children's journals - just like she does in her class) and continued on with her day as much as she could just like being at school! The weather has been so nice we have gone out in the front yard (no dog mess!) to play/ride bikes in the evening. Kaci and Austin came over and before you know it it was 7:00!! It is so nice having fun neighbors!!!

Around the House....

Playing with our neighbor Austin

Austin is a month older than Brody and Findley. It's been fun having them so close - I enjoy his mom and the boys love Austin!! They all are expert spitters!! Findley even has quite the splatter that goes on with his!!

Thing 1 and Thing 2

Whew! I didn't realize I had gotten so behind posting!!! A friend of Ryan's from work gave these cute shirts to the boys!!! One says "Thing 1" and the other "Thing 2" from Dr. Seuss' Cat in a Hat!!! Thanks so much for thinking of us Margaret!!! I LOVE them! We've gotten so many compliments while we are out and about in these! We had gone out in the front yard on one of these wonderful cool evenings! Brody was very sensitive to the grass - not enough to keep him from enjoying but the whole time his toes were curled and most of the time he would try and keep his legs up in the air while sitting so he wasn't touching the grass! It was too funny to watch! It was so nice outside that we opened the front door to let some cool air in. The boys would crawl to the door step but wouldn't go over. It was perfect!!! I wouldn't trust it for too long though! I think it would only take a time or two more and they would get gutsy and be gone!!!!
