Estes Park - YMCA of the Rockies

The Y was celebrating their 100th year of being in the Rockies. This was a statue they had added for the dedication. Ainsley and Mason were practicing their letters and had the YMCA chant down for the 16 hour car ride home!! A day at the stables. This was always my favorite part of vacation! I didn't get to ride this time around. I felt sorry for the poor horse that would get me AND my two growing babies! I did the pony rides with Ainsley. Ahhh, the pony ride. Ainsley was very excited about riding a horse and had been talking it up the whole way there. She got to pick out her pony - Star -and up she went.....then quickly down! She would not let go of my neck and while she was screaming the man in charge handed me the reins and said "Have fun and stay in this area!" She got down and we both walked Star a few times around the ring. We took Star back to his barn and Ainsley sat on this rock talking to her for the next hour while we waited for the others to return from their ride! Uncle Stephen sharing his fishing knowledge with Ainsley! She stuck with it for a bit and then had much more fun carrying around the rubbery worms and talking/caring for them in the outdoors. We were all probably safer this way! She was a little out of control casting her line!! A walk up to the tundra. We saw lots of little creature scurring around here.
